HALF TIME: Charlton Athletic 0-0 MK Dons
Not much to say about that really. Stalemate. No clear chances for either side, Dons perhaps denied a penalty but I’d need to see it back. Watson certainly debating it with the ref as he walks off.
Anyway, all square.
39 mins: Dons denied a penalty?
Tennai Watson looks like he’s shoved over in the penalty area. He was in full flow to get on the end of Hiram Boateng’s ball, he clearly got knocked off balance by an arm in the back but he tries to stay on his feet, stumbles before hitting the deck.
Nothing given by referee Lee Swabey.
22 mins: Not a lot going on
Dons certainly don’t look in any trouble in this one so far... but neither to Charlton either really. Eisa, Bird and Boateng haven’t really threatened other than an effort from young Bird which bent over the bar.
At the other end, Aaron Henry had a free kick harmlessly deflect off the wall.
10 mins: Dons making a decent start
Charlton have made 11 changes to their side this evening, and a lot of it is youth while Dons’ eight changes have seen the likes of Watson, Kasumu, Robson and Boateng come into the side - al of whom have a lot of first team experience this season for Dons. It’s certainly showing in the midfield at the moment, with Kasumu and Robson in particular enjoying themselves at the moment.
2 mins: Early shot for Kasumu
David Kasumu wins the ball in the centre of the park, does well to sent Eisa through, he cuts it back to Kasumu on the edge of the box but he scuffs the effort wide.
The draw for the quarter finals
The Quarter Final draw of the Papa John’s Trophy will take place live on TalkSPORT on Thursday January 6 on the Jim White and Simon Jordan show.
Taking place between 11am-11:30am, White and Jordan will be joined by Garry Monk who won the competition in 2006 with Swansea City, a victory that set the Swans on their way to an illustrious period in the Club’s history, gaining promotion from League Two to the Premier League and winning the EFL Cup.
