After picking up his first point as manager away at Rochdale on Wednesday night, Micciche said he doesn’t need to look at the league table, which sees Dons sitting 22nd, to know what his side need to escape the trapdoor to League 2.

“Everyone needs to be patient and trust me - I’ve got a plan,” he said.

“No-one is panicking. We know the points total we need to get to.

“We need six wins and probably four more points to guarantee it. There’s no need to look at the table, because we know what we need.”

Micciche added that he was impressed with the way his side kept to the game plan, despite the early pressure from Rochdale.

He said: “I thought Rochdale started well after their result on Sunday and once we weathered the storm, we looked solid.

“With this shape, our attacking presence had to come from the wing-backs, but I was pleased with how the midfield kept their shape.”
