Diego Poyet has returned to West Ham after his loan deal with MK Dons was cut short.
The 20-year-old midfielder lost his place in the side shortly before Christmas and after a conversation with manager Karl Robinson, both agreed he’d be better off returning to his parent club rather than spending the remainder of his season-long loan on the bench.
Robinson praised the Uruguayan, who made 20 appearances in his time with Dons, and said he believes he is good enough to play in the Premier League.
“I love developing young players and it’s not fair on him as a young player, not getting as many minutes as he would like,” said Robinson. “He’s got every opportunity to be a Premier League player but he needs games and I’m never going to stand in the way of a young player doing that.”
