DEAN LEWINGTON’S captain’s armband hangs ready and waiting for the long-serving Dons skipper as his side prepare for the biggest few days in the club’s history.

The Dons dressing room will be a hive of activity come Saturday lunchtime when Huddersfield Town visit for the first leg of their League 1 play-off semi final – and everyone connected with the club is determined that this is finally the year they earn a place in the Championship.

After the first leg at stadium:mk, Dons make the return trip to West Yorkshire on Tuesday night, with a place in the final against either Sheffield United or Stevenage up for grabs.

Despite missing their chance to seal home advantage in the second leg by losing to Walsall, the mood in the Dons camp is still buoyant, and chairman Pete Winkelman is urging everyone in Milton Keynes to get behind the club as they look to make it third time lucky in the League 1 play-offs and book a big day out at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 26.
