Fresh faces are a 'statement of intent' from Dons boss Warne
The EFL pundit believes MK Dons have made some big moves in the window so far
Shrewd movements in the transfer window so far have put MK Dons on the radar for promotion this season, according to an EFL expert.
Having brought in six experienced heads during the summer thus far - Charlie Goode, Cohen Bramall, Dan Barlaser, Ryan Wintle, Sam Nombe and Sam Silvera - Paul Warne has set out his stall not just to stay in following the club’s promotion from League Two, but to fight for back-to-back promotions.
EFL pundit Don Goodman highlighted the signings of Nombe, Silvera and Wintle in particular have thrust Dons into the spotlight, with calling them a ‘statement of intent’ for the forthcoming season.
Speaking to BOYLE Sports who offer the latest football odds, Goodman also highlighted the impact Warne himself will have as he seeks a fifth promotion from the third tier this season.
“MK Dons' signings represent a statement of intent that will be duly noted throughout League One,” Goodman said.
“I recall Sam Nombe demonstrated power and immense goalscoring potential during his first spell at the club before injuries stalled his momentum, while Sammy Silvera offers speed and quality wide, especially in League One, and Ryan Wintle gives you proven Championship quality in central midfield.
“Crucially, in Paul Warne, MK Dons have a manager who must hold one of the most remarkable promotion records in League One history. He understands the physical demands, mental toughness, and tactical versatility required to navigate the league.”
