Sergio Aguza and Cristian Benavente could be heading out of MK Dons as early as Christmas if they cannot adapt to English football quickly.
The pair have failed to make an impact at stadium:mk since signing from Real Madrid’s reserve squad in the summer.
Peruvian international Benavente has made five appearances this season, while Aguza has made just three, and neither have been seen since the 6-0 defeat to Southampton on September 23.
Earlier this season, Robinson predicted the pair would be ready for the English game by mid-October, but with that deadline now gone, he admits it may have been a failed gamble.
“They’re still finding it hard to adapt to English football,” he said. “The contact has really surprised them, and the lack of time you get has really surprised them. They’re as talented as you’re going to get. But once or twice, that hasn’t been there.
“Hopefully they’ll come good, but if they don’t, we’ll have to take stock at Christmas and see what we do. It was trial and error.
“We’re still not 100 per cent sure which way that’s going to go.”
