Here’s how the game played out.

MK Dons 0-1 Charlton Athletic - FULL TIME

16 mins: Uneventful

Still not a lot to say about this one. Charlton had a free-kick on the byline they squandered, Dons have held firm otherwise.

A rare venture forwards, Dons win a corner. McEachran swings it into the mix, Jules rises highest but can’t direct it.

It’s a poor game, this.

30 mins: What else is on?

Half-an-hour into the game, I think we’re yet to see the first shot on goal. Scott Fraser, who I’ve just remembered is playing, kind of wafted an effort over the bar from about six yards, not sure that really counts as it was so far over the top.

Wish we could change the channel.

33 mins: Leaburn into the book

Leaburn into the book for a late one on Lewington which has left the skipper needing treatment.

A shot! Leko fires one goalwards, Maynard-Brewer tips it onto the post for a corner.

It’s aimed at Jules once again, but he can’t get a clean connection and it’s behind for a goal kick.

HALF TIME: MK Dons 0-0 Charlton

Both sides cancelling each other out entire, making for a pretty poor spectacle. Pretty standard faire for a Dons-Charlton game to be honest.

Back underway at Stadium MK. No changes for either side at the break.

48 mins: Eisa comes close

Eisa draws a brilliant save from Maynard-Brewer but that was ALL about Jules’ sensational drive, bullying his way 50 yards up the pitch to pick out the striker in the middle

56 mins: Charlton have a go

The visiting fans celebrate as they finally get a shot on target - Jesurun Rak-Sakyi forcing Cumming into a save. It results in a corner, but Payne thighs one harmlessly wide.

61 mins: GOAL - Charlton take the lead

Short corner routine works for the visitors, Payne finds space pulling off to the right of the area, arrowing a strike past Cumming to put his side in front.

Sullay Kaikai comes on to replace Conor Grant
