Back underway at Stadium MK
HALF TIME: MK Dons 0-1 Rotherham United
Could be level just before the break, with Harry Darling heading wide, the ball was recycled into the mix by Twine but Zak Jules booms his headerover the top.
It’s been a tough half for Dons. Ihiekwe’s header the difference but defensively Dons have been loose with the ball and have been the architects of Rotherham’s chances. A big second half needed.
39 mins: Someone’s lit the fire
Starting to get a bit scrappy and feisty now, tackles flying in and even a yellow card for Rotherham boss Paul Warne. Rarmani Edmonds-Green getting treatment for the visitors.
35 mins: Smith should score...
Zak Jules’ with a really poor ball inside to Darling gifts a chance for Rotherham, but Michael Smith’s touch is heavy and allows Fisher to gather when the striker is one-on-one.
GOAL 28 mins: Ihiekwe heads Rotherham into the lead
Another set-piece for Rotherham and this time it works out for the Millers as they take the lead. Launched into the box, Fisher is in two minds as to whether or not to come, he doesn’t as Michael Ihiekwe rises highest to head over the keeper and into the net.
25 mins: Twine within range...
He spins away from his man to get some space about 25 yards out, but as he shapes to shoot he’s cut down for a free-kick within ‘Twine range’ but he bends the free-kick wide of the mark.
18 mins: Unique corner routines
Rotherham are still very much the team on the front foot here but we’ve seen some interesting set-piece methods from the visitors - lining up about 30 yards from goal before running in as the kick is taken! It’s one from the training ground for sure, but I’m sure the header over the bar was not part of the plan.
Dons not really getting their attacking game rolling as yet, a few half-breaks but nothing to test Josh Vickers in the Rotherham net.
9 mins: Kioso comes close
He’s the man in goal-scoring mood of late but Peter Kioso took the wrong option there. Great interchange between himself and Boateng on the right, he bursts into the penalty area on the right, has Eisa and Twine if he looks up but Kioso hits it wide of the far post.
5 mins: Rotherham hit the bar
An early warning sign as if they needed one as Rotherham hit the framework early doors. Michael Smith has been in prolific form this season, and beat the offside trap on the left flank and with Grigg in the centre, opts to go himself and lofts it over Fisher but is denied by the crossbar.
