In the picture: Bradley Johnson finds the net
MK Dons took a first half lead through Bradley Johnson’s 34th minute strike from outside the box to lead Port Vale
55 mins: Cleared off the line
Just as Dons looked as though they were on the front foot, they have a wobble, have to clear one off their own line, courtesy of Henry Lawrence, and they just can’t get hold of the ball all of a sudden
Second half
Daniel Oyegoke comes on at the interval for Louie Barry as Dons change to a back five again, just as they did on Saturday.
Back underway for the second half
HALF TIME: MK Dons 1-0 Port Vale
Not a classic, but Dons lead through that Bradley Johnson goal on 34 minutes. Good finish, but not a lot else to say about the game. Pretty even otherwise.
42 mins: Dennis with a strike
Not sure the ball was meant for Dennis to get on the end of, probably Matt Smith really, but Dennis picks it up, breaks into the box and though Smith is up in support, he goes it alone and stings the palms of Stevens with his shot
40 mins: Vale looking to respond
Hussey with an effort from the edge of the box for Vale, well blocked by O’Hora. The visitors seeking a quick equaliser here
34 mins: GOAL! Dons are in front
From out of nowhere, MK Dons are in front for the first time this season! The ball finds it’s way to Bradley Johnson about 22 yards out, and spotting the keeper on the wrong foot, the experienced midfielder picks out the bottom corner for Dons’ first league goal of the season!
25 mins: Comfortably goal-less
Still quite an entertaining watch, with both midfields putting in some decent stuff but it’s just not resulting in any chances. Port Vale have had a couple of corners come to nothing, as have Dons, and there are a few groans getting a bit louder around me as Dons struggle to get out.
15 mins: Dons starting to get on top
A decent spell of possession here for the home side, they’re trying to play their game but are getting a bit man-handled by the visitors who are throwing themselves into some hefty tackles.
So far no shots of note, a Matt Smith effort heavily deflected really about all she wrote
