MK Dons 3-0 Carlisle United - Dons pick up first win of the season

A good show, that. Dominant in almost every department, well-worked goals and the half-time lead they have wanted all season.

In the run up to HT, it’s just getting a bit lapse from Dons as they threaten to be their own worst enemies playing out from the back, but have ridden the storm a little bit

Wearne goes tumbling, he’s clattered as penalty appeals go in, he’s offside, but what a move.

Hendry turns brilliantly, gives and goes with Gilbey, takes aim, Lewis saves but palms it into the path of Wearne but the flag is up

Unlucky there for Wearne, the ball has skipped off the surface and as he’s tried to bring it under control, Josh Vela has nicked it off his toe and taken Wearne’s studs in the shin for his troubles.

It’s brilliant football from MK Dons, Nemane gets to the byline again, and he puts a second on the plate this time for Gilbey to tap in

It opens up really nicely for Carroll in the centre of the park, he’s on the edge of the box but instead he opts to feed Nemane, who puts it into the mix for Wearne but he gets smothered out by Carlisle’s defence

Good move from the wing-back, cuts inside onto his right, takes aim but it’s a weak effort through the legs of Gilbey, Lewis though gets down to his left to save

At last! MK Dons are in front! An excellent ball from Gilbey splits the defence, Nemane races onto it, from the byline he pulls it back for Hendry to convert from inside six yards!

Not a lot between the sides as yet. Dons have seen more of the ball but are being met with the teal/lilac shirts as Carlisle sit deep, looking to hit Dons on the counter.

When they are afforded the ball though, the Cumbrians do look capable going forwards, and have only tested McGill with a shot from range straight at him

Decent start from the home side so far, passing nicely through the midfield and gently probing rather than really piling on the pressure.
