MK Dons vs Cheltenham Town - LIVE

40 mins: Boos to a corner

The home fans boo as Dons go from the attacking half back to Tom McGill in two passes, but a long ball up top to Hogan wins the hosts a corner.

That corner though is once again easy for Day to gather in the air

38 mins: Hogan offside

Dons look to counter from a Cheltenham corner, Offord breaks away, feeds White who in turn looks to Hogan but the striker has strayed offside

35 mins: Wide of the mark

Young takes aim, gets it around the wall but it’s wide of McGill’s post

34 mins: Thompson-Sommers booked

After getting away with a warning earlier KTS, Miller goes down under the lightest of contacts from the midfielder about 25 yards out, earning the midfielder a yellow card

32 mins: Into the keeper's arms

Wearne wins a free-kick on the touchline, White whips it into the mix but it’s easy for Day to come and claim above everyone.

Dons not causing the same issues from set pieces as their opponents, but sine the goal, it has been the home side who have had more of the ball

26 mins: Another set-piece

Dons are just not competing with Cheltenham when it comes to set pieces. Another from the Robins causes problems, this time Jordan Thomas’ volley bounces wide, but McGill is at full stretch to make sure

22 mins: GOAL! Dons are back in it!

Who else?! Alex Gilbey hits the back of the net again for MK Dons after great work from Hogan on the right-flank, putting it on a plate for the skipper to swipe home from six yards.

2-1

20 mins: McGill let off

When you’re 2-0 down, quite why Tom McGill is passing into a corridor of four Cheltenham players on the edge of his box is beyond me.

Fortunately Miller is offside, but honestly, there’s playing out and then there’s shooting yourself in the foot when you’re already 2-0 down

15 mins: Gilbey in behind

Typically storming run from the skipper, but he’s down a narrow alley and as the angle narrows, keeper Day comes out to gather at his feet.

Dons need to start getting into this game.

13 mins: GOAL - Cheltenham double their lead

Thumper from Thompson-Sommers on Kinsella, smashes the Cheltenham man in the air, but the Dons man escapes a booking.

The free-kick is clipped in, it’s a free header across goal and George Miller is left to tap into the unguarded net.

2-0 Cheltenham, both from set-pieces

9 mins: Hunt for a clean sheet continues

There are a lot of rooms in the hotel at Stadium MK, but MK Dons cannot buy a clean sheet (sorry).

This is the 46th game this calendar year, and Dons have kept just five lockouts. Today, of course, they will not be adding to their total.

Scott Hogan finishes a brilliant move which Dons almost bounce back from immediately, but he took Gilbey’s pass from an offside position.

The celebrations are quickly muted

6 mins: GOAL - Cheltenham take the lead

Shoulder to shoulder challenge from Maguire on Colwill, the Dons defender punished for being stronger, but the free-kick is hooked to the edge of the box to Luke Young who fires it through a crowd of players, and deflects past McGill.

1-0 to the visitors

2 mins: Nemane with a chance

After conceding early in their last two games, Dons have a chance inside the first two minutes to open the scoring.

And what a goal it could have been too, but Aaron Nemane brilliant run, cutting across onto his left foot results in a tame finish straight at keeper Joe Day.

Scott Hogan gets the game underway

Man on the sidelines

Jamie Day has a really interesting back story prior to linking up with MK Dons.

There will be a Scott Lindsey-shaped hole in the dugout today as the head coach is banned this afternoon.

Picking up his third booking this season, Lindsey will watch on from the director’s box, while assistant manager Jamie Day runs things from the touchline
