DONS have today (Friday) confirmed that youngster Charlie Collins has agreed a new one-year deal at the club, and a number of others could be about to follow him.
The 19-year-old striker graduated through Dons’ academy last year after making his first team debut in May 2009. He didn’t feature for Karl Robinson’s side in the 2010/11 season, but made a handful of appearances on loan at Blue Square Premier outfit Kettering Town.
Adam Chicksen and Tom Flanagan – who also spent time with The Poppies – have both been offered new contracts.
George Baldock and Harry Milton are currently the only 2011 academy players to be offered professional deals. Daniel Glass, George Williams and Liam McGovern have been released.
Peter Leven and Jabo Ibehre are the only two senior squad members still to decide their future. Both were offered contracts three weeks ago but haven’t been able to agree terms yet.
Although it’s been a relatively quiet start to the summer across the Football League, Dons’ activity in the transfer market is set to be increased next week, and announcements regarding new players are expected.
