Not winning can quickly become a 'habit' and Dons must avoid that - Sinclair

The former Swansea and Celtic man spoke about MK Dons’ season so far

Former Premier League attacker Scott Sinclair said MK Dons need to start picking up victories quickly to avoid getting into a bad habit.

Since securing promotion to League One, Dons have won just once - last Saturday against Luton Town - and find themselves sat in 20th place in the division.

It is a far cry from their lofty pre-season ambitions of fighting for promotion, picking up just nine points from a possible 30.

Ex-Chelsea, Manchester City and Swansea City man Sinclair, who ended his playing career last year at Bristol Rovers, told Andy’s Bet Club stabilising after coming up is always difficult, saying not winning can quickly become a habit.

He said: “We’ve seen in all divisions down the years that the first season after promotion is always the hardest and it’s the same for MK Dons.

“Even when you go up in great form and you’re flying, it’s always a tough task. You need to go and consolidate and win tight games, just keep picking up points because although it's still early days you don’t want to get into a habit of not winning.

“MK Dons just need to start converting some of those draws into wins and they’ll be fine.”
