Player ratings vs Colchester: Williams stands out in gloomy performance

Player ratings vs Colchester

Ian McLoughlin - 5 - Confidence taking a serious knock after another three goals conceded, and should have done better with Ibehre’s.

Lee Hodson - 6 - Looked to be the focus of Colchester’s first half pressure but dealt with it fairly well.

Dean Lewington - 6 - Didn’t seem to really get going, either in attack nor defence.

Shaun Williams - 8 - While chaos seemed to go on around him, he kept a cool head, making countless vital tackles.

Jordon Spence - 6 - Won’t want to be reminded of his part in the second Colchester goal, but made up for it with a strong headed effort.

Darren Potter - 5 - Another quiet game for the ringmaster. Not at the races.

Stephen Gleeson - 6 - Put in the distance, but his head dropped during the second half.

Ben Reeves - 7 - Looked one of the better players on the pitch, tricky, tough to mark, but was replaced by McLeod.

Dele Alli - 7 - A threat for the visitors in the first half, was replaced at the break by Daniel Powell.

George Baldock - 5 - After banging on his manager’s door for a start, didn’t back it up with a performance to match.

Patrick Bamford - 6 - Dropped very deep to get involved, but missed a couple of decent chances.

Daniel Powell - 5 - Sparked the move for the goal, but didn’t add much.

Jason Banton - 6 - Looked lively on the ball.

Izale McLeod - 6 - Couldn’t do much to change the course of the game.
