Player ratings vs Preston North End.

David Martin - 7 - Made two good stops, but otherwise was a passenger.

Dean Lewington - 7 - Did well to break up a lot of Preston’s attacks, especially in the first half.

Lee Hodson - 6 - Like Lewington, broke up a lot of the play, but was the sacrificial lamb for the half-time tactical switch.

Antony Kay - 8 - Won almost everything in the air, keeping the Preston front line very quiet.

Jordan Spence - 8 - Another accomplished performance, and looked in his element against Kevin Davies.

Stephen Gleeson - 8 - Got his hands dirty breaking up the play and dropping deep to help with the defence. Taking on the ‘Potter-role’ well again.

Dele Alli - 7 - After a fairly quiet opening half, he learned from Gleeson’s influence and began to get down to the nitty gritty of midfield play.

Samir Carruthers - 6 - Lasted just 12 minutes before hobbling off.

Daniel Powell - 6 - Wasted both of Dons’ best chances.

Ben Reeves - 7 - Looked keen to motor forward, but was left with few options in front of him.

Izale McLeod - 6 - Another hard slog for the lone striker, but couldn’t carve any influences even with Smith alongside him.

George Baldock - 6 - An early change for Carruthers, and found himself at full back in the second half. Almost let in Scott Laird, but was let off the hook.

Alan Smith - 5 - Made almost no impact up front alongside McLeod.
