Ian McLoughlin - 7 - Pulled off a fine stop to keep Forte’s effort at bay. Worringly played out the last five minutes injured but kept another clean sheet.

Dean Lewington - 7 - Strong performance from the skipper as he kept Ryan Flynn quiet for most of the afternoon.

Adam Chicksen - 7 - Again, called upon to play in several roles. Made more of an impact on the left wing as he used his pace to attack the United defence.

Antony Kay - 7 - Dealt with Dave Kitson’s physical threat with some of his own. Great in teh air all afternoon.

Shaun Williams - 7 - Dealt with the bobbling pitch well as United lumped long balls over the top.

Darren Potter - 6 - Tried hard to get the ball down and play his game, but the pitch made it almost impossible to do so.

Chris Lines - 8 - Returning to Sheffield, the on-loan Wednesday man caused huge problems for the United midfield who simply couldn’t keep tabs on him as he ghosted around the field. Finally finding his feet in this side.

Daniel Powell - 6 - Barely touched the ball before going off injured.

Dean Bowditch - 7 - The pitch prevented much play down the flanks, but he put himself about and made some vital interceptions.

Alan Smith - 6 - Could’ve been booked in the second minute, but his physical nature was a welcome addition on the grubby surface.

Ryan Lowe - 6 - Lucky to miss Michael Doyle with a horrible looking lunge on half way in the first half. Other than that, fed off scraps.

Mathias Doumbe - 8 - Great performance at right back. Kept a tight leash on Jonathan Forte and nullified Kitson’s presence too.

Patrick Bamford - 7 - Skinned three United defenders in the build-up to his penalty claim. Promising stuff.

Stephen Gleeson - 6 - Clearly not fully fit, or confident as he shyed away from some of the more physical stuff late in the game.

Top Don: Doumbe
