MK Dons have raided Real Madrid’s reserves once again with the signing of midfielder Sergio Aguza.
The 22-year-old has signed a two-year contract at stadium:mk, following the signing of Cristian Benavente from the same squad earlier this month.
Aguza has been part of the Madrid set up since he was 16, and after graduating to the Castilla reserves squad, made 46 appearances last season.
So impressive was his form, Aguza sat on the bench twice for Carlo Anchelotti’s first team last term.
“I’ve seen Sergio play a number of times and he’s an exceptionally talented player,” said Dons boss Karl Robinson. “He’s very dynamic in his movements and his ball retention as well.
“He was captain of Real Madrid Castilla so he’ll bring tremendous strength to us. He’s someone who will really add to the group and he might be able to give us something we’ve never had before.”
He continued: “Obviously he and Cristian (Benavente) will be a few months behind, having to integrate into a new culture and language. It’s good, though, that Sergio has someone like Cristian alongside him to help him move forward.”
Aguza, like Benavente, will not be eligible to play until the Club has received international clearance.
