Ben Reeves has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a calf injury on international duty.
The 23-year-old played for Northern Ireland against Scotland last Wednesday, and picked up the injury while away with Michael O’Neill’s squad.
Having returned to stadium:mk for medical tests, Reeves has been ruled out for the remaining eight games of the campaign.
Reeves had found a rich vein of form for Dons of late, scoring four goals in nine games from midfield.
Speaking about the injury, Dons boss Karl Robinson said: “I’m gutted, especially as it means we are without another important player after having lost Benik (Afobe) in January and then Dele (Alli) and Dave (Martin) also through injury in recent months.
“These things test your resolve but the players are 100% determined and ready to give everything they’ve got in the run-in.
“You, the fans, also have a hugely vital role to play – continue backing the team as magnificently as you have all season and, together, hopefully we can achieve our aim.”
