Hall had been at stadium:mk on loan from Bolton Wanderers. His last game was back in March in the 2-1 home defeat to Brighton, but he ruptured his cruciate ligament in training shortly afterwards and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
The winger remained with the Dons medical staff for treatment for the duration of his loan, and continued after his contract with Wanderers had expired.
However, he was unveiled as an Oxford player on Tuesday morning.
Hall, who spent time on loan at the Kassam Stadium in 2011, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time here before and have always kept an eye out for how Oxford are doing; the fans were brilliant with me and I’ve never forgotten that.
“It has been great to see the club going from strength to strength.
“I have spoken a lot with Michael Appleton and know what he expects from me so it’s an exciting move and I can’t wait to get started.”
