Dons fans are beginning to see why Robbie Muirhead has been bought to the club, according to his manager.
Having made a slow and indifferent start to life at Stadium MK following his January transfer from Hearts, the 20-year-old looked impressive coming against Shrewsbury before another good show in the 2-2 draw away at Bradford on Tuesday night.
Muirhead made some promising runs at Valley Parade, but often was overlooked for the key pass as Dons looked to play on the counter.
“These are the types of games that suit Robbie,” said his manager Robbie Neilson after Muirhead was given 65 minutes at Valley Parade.
“We brought him down because he can run, he has pace and can counter.
“It suited him and Harvey Barnes to a T. You have to have different players with different games.
“If it’s a total possession game, then Robbie Muirhead is not the man to dictate the game.
“But he’s perfect for a counter-attacking game.”
