Karl Robinson said he never had any doubts that David Martin would sign a new contract with MK Dons.
The keeper helped the club to a record number of clean sheets last season as well as promotion to the Championship.
But the former Liverpool man was the last of those offered a contract in the summer to put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the club.
“The only reason it took so long was because he got married and went away on his honeymoon!” joked Robinson.
“I couldn’t not see him signing. He wants to be here, he’s a tremendous ambassador to the club and Milton Keynes.
“He means so much to us on and off the pitch.”
