Karl Robinson will approach Brentford in a bid to sign Will Grigg in the summer.
The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals for MK Dons this season, including six in his last three, to fire the club to third in League 1.

Like Benik Afobe before him though, Grigg is on loan for the season from Griffin Park and will return to his parent club when the campaign is over.
But Robinson is keen to make the fans favourite a permanent addition to his squad for next season.
“We’ll certainly ask the question,” he said. “Brentford paid a lot of money, and it’s a big investment. I’m not sure we can match the money they spent, but that’s just where we are.
“We’ll try our best to get Will Grigg to play for MK Dons next season, but we’re realistic.
“If the price is right, we’ll do the deal. Unfortunately, it has to be right for us for that to happen.”
While Grigg is number one on Robinson’s transfer wish list, Robinson admits he’s spoken to the agents of the nine players out of contract this summer.
Robinson said: “A lot of their agents have been in contact asking whether their players will be offered new contracts with us.
“We’re pencilling in meetings with them to tell them what we’re doing next season. It’s a bit unfair for me to say yes or no to some of the players and ask them to carry on competing for us.
“We’re in talks with one or two, but it doesn’t matter what division we’re in.”
