Will Grigg feels he’s reaping the rewards from Karl Robinson’s striker rotation earlier this season after he scored his 20th goal of the season.
The 23-year-old on loan from Brentford scored a wonderful individual effort against Fleetwood on Tuesday night, the second goal in a 3-0 win at the Highbury Stadium.
Having shared the leading role with Benik Afobe earlier this season before the latter’s transfer to Wolves, Grigg says he feels fresh and eager to play at the moment, which has helped him to eight goals in his last eight appearances.
“Nothing has changed, “ said Grigg. “ I guess I’m reaping the rewards from the rotation at the beginning of the season now.
“It’s nice to get a run in the team, I’m feeling fit and confident.
“It’s not a bad time to hit peak form and hopefully it’ll get us somewhere.”
Surrounded by the likes of Dele Alli and Lewis Baker in recent weeks, Grigg admitted playing with two midfielders tipped for the top has made his life up front much simpler.
He added: “It makes my life a hell of a lot easier. Without runners past me, it’s a hard job.
“And the quality they’ve got, I know I’ll get chances every game.”
