Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 MK Dons

HALF TIME: Shef Weds 0-0 MK Dons

A good defensive showing from Dons, but look at risk every time they give up a corner. Not much in the way of chances themselves, Twine probably should score when he was put through though.

42 mins: Wednesday staying on the front foot

A quick break this time from the home side, Dele-Bashiru down the left flank for Wednesday but he is denied by O’Hora’s slide. Chey Dunkley again is the threat from the corner but this time, it sails over his head.

Dons could do with half-time here.

29 mins: Effort on target for Dons

Bit of ping-pong in the area after O’Riley’s corner, Kioso and Kasumu get on it before Watters tries an overhead kick, which is gathered easily by Peacock-Farrell.

Not much settling from either side here, it’s end-to-end all the time.

20 mins: Kioso hits one just wide

Great chance for Dons on a rare opportunity to get forwards in the last five minutes or so. Twine, Watters and Kasumu broke quickly to win a corner for the visitors, and the corner made it’s way out to Kioso who hit it left-footed through the crowd and just wide of the upright.

17 mins: Goal disallowed for Wednesday

Dunkley’s fouled Lewington as he headed goalwards, Fisher’s save rebound went in off Corbeanu but it’s disallowed.

14 mins: Two good saves from Fisher

Two saves from the Dons keeper as Wednesday start to turn the screw. First, Barry Bannan’s effort is well watched by the stopper after an effort from range before tipping Chey Dunkley’s header over the bar.

9 mins: Twine misses a great chance

Should probably score should Scott Twine there. Put through on goal, the ball just wouldn’t sit for him but he feels (or at least he thinks he feels) a clip on his ankles as he shoots. It’s high and wide, and not a penalty.

5 mins: Two into the book already

Two defenders have already picked up yellow cards in this opening five minutes - Aden Baldwin for Dons and Liam Palmer for Wednesday but ‘it hasn’t been that sort of game’ as they say.

O’Hora has had the first real chance of the game, getting on the end of O’Riley’s free kick at the far post but his touch while goalwards was pounced on by Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the Wednesday net.

We’re off and underway at Hillsborough.
