Jordan Spence thinks Dons have to continue to be fearless in their approach if they are to make ripples in the Championship this season.
Karl Robinson’s football ‘philosophy’ of passing out from the back has nearly caught them out on several occasions already this season, with teams already wise to their tactic.
But Spence refuses to believe the same style which earned them so many plaudits, and ultimately got them out of League 1 last season, won’t work in the Championship.
“We had to work hard to earn our right to be here,” said the former West Ham man. “I believe in my own abilities, and the boys around me.
“We’re pretty fearless, and to play out the way we do. As long as we believe in the philosophy and stick to it, we’ll get enough points to be alright this season.
“We’ve got a style of play. Yes at times, we’ll have to dig in to get it over the line, but have the boldness to go out there and play.
“We believe in ourselves. We believe we can take the ethos we applied in League 1 and use it here.
“There’s a reason why we’re in the Championship and thankfully we’ve established a little bit of it, but there’s a long way to go, so it’ll be down to consistency.”
