First-half goals from Callum Hendry and Joe White saw Scott Lindsey’s side take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Chesterfield’s spirited second-half showing saw them get one back through Darren Oldaker, but it was not enough as Dons claimed their first win in four.
Here’s how we rated the players.
5. Joe Tomlinson - 6.5
Struggled to get in the game for long periods, but came up with the goods with an assist for White before putting one on a plate for Hendry in the second-half which he did not convert | Jane Russell
6. Aaron Nemane - 6.5
Showed in flashes his pace and ability to get in behind. Had a glorious chance to put it to bed late on | Jane Russell
7. Joe White - 7.5
Took his goal really well, and made a really important defensive contribution too, in the first-half especially. Picked up a knock in the second though, limping out | Jane Russell
8. Liam Kelly - 5.5
Got into good positions and pockets of space, but rushed touches and passes at crucial times let him down | Jane Russell
