Karl Robinson says there isn’t a single member of his squad ‘cast adrift’ as they prepare for a hectic festive season.
The Christmas period is a busy one for footballers up and down the country, and the Dons boss believes each of his registered players could play a key part in helping his side out of the relegation zone should the time come.
“There is no player cast away here,” said Robinson, who has used 22 players in the Championship so far. “If you’re playing and training well, you’ll get your chance.
“I don’t have favourites... well I do and they play every week for obvious reasons.
“But I have an open door policy, so be brave and walk through it. But once you do, you have to accept the challenges put in front of you.”
One player benefitting from such a policy is Bolton loanee Rob Hall. Having lost his place in the side, and then suffering injury, Hall has come back into the side and was outstanding against both Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.
And despite going without pay from his financially stricken parent club, Robinson said Hall has taken on his challenges with aplomb.
Robinson said: “He has shown tremendous hunger, attitude and desire.
“Rob Hall hasn’t been paid by Bolton, but he has taken it upon himself to go into another gear.
“We’ve dealt with him in an honest manner, and he has responded professionally. He’s a tremendous kid, very talented and he has earned his plaudits.
“But he needs to keep performing well, as do the rest of them. It’s not just him, the whole team have been playing well.”
