MK Sunday League round-up: Stony finally taste defeat as Willen rule

STONY Stratford Town lost for the first time in two seasons on Sunday as they went down 2-1 to Willen, who look set to challenge them for the New City Heating Premier Division crown.

The win was Willen’s third from as many games this term and sees them sat proudly at the top of the table, with Stony still looking for their first victory after two games.

Stoke Hammond have a 100 per cent record from two games, sitting second after a 5-3 win against bottom side AFC Padbury, still looking for their first point.

Coachmakers Arms beat FC MMIX 2-1 to stay top of Division One with nine points from three games, while New City Saints maintained their unbeaten start with a 3-1 victory over Buckingham United.

New Bradwell thrashed Stanton Manor 6-1 to go third and Open University were 4-2 winners against Stantonbury Social Elite.

In Division Two, RJ Fitness hit Swanfica for six and Southcott Village beat IDW 1-0.

There were plenty of goals in the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup as MK 87 saw off AFC Santander ‘A’ 7-4 and Stoke Mandeville were 7-1 winners over Wolvy Town.

In the Junior Trophy, Stacey Bushes went down 8-0 to AYFCS, Inter Faith thumped Milax United 7-2, and Bletchley Wanderers beat Eldorado Diamonds 3-2.
