If MK Dons can win their next three games, Russell Martin says his stance of downplaying their play-off chances will have to change.

Dons currently sit just three points outside the top six, but there are five teams between themselves and Blackpool also with similar aspirations of extending their season beyond May 8.

Martin predicts his side will need to win seven of their eight remaining games to stand a realistic chance of finishing in the play-offs, but until then, they'll continue to take the season a game at a time and focus on putting things together for next season.

"If we get through the next three with wins, the conversation could change," he said. "If we’re there at the end of the season – we’ll look at it. It’s a really big ask as we’ve got to win seven of eight to do it. We’re so reliant on other people, that’s why we’ve not spoke about it, there are so many teams with games in hand. We just focus on the next one - Lincoln is a really tough game.

"For now, we won’t get carried away. The last time everyone spoke about it we lost four in a row so I’m reluctant to let anyone engage in that conversation so we focus on ourselves and our process."
