Neilson satisfied with valuable point at Bradford

Stuart O'Keefe fired Dons into a fourth minute lead before Tony McMahon equalised from the penalty spot. George Williams then netted when a miscued cross sailed over keeper Colon Doyle, only for Charlie Wyke to head in a second equaliser just before half time.

But taking on a Bradford side undefeated at home in nearly a year, Neilson was pleased to have had chances to win the game.

"I thought the team played really well," said the Dons boss. "We created a few chances but we lacked a little bit of quality at the end and the pitch made things really difficult. We got into good areas and scored two good goals.

"We knew coming here they'd try and dominate possession, so if we could try and use our pace to break on them. We did that really well in both halves.

"The performance here meritted a point, they're undefeated here in a year. We had chances to take the three points too.

"The pitch is really rutted, even after the warm-ups so to break at pace, to pick the pass or to put the right weight on the pass was really difficult.

"The key thing is we worked to the game plan, we just lacked that final execution."

Joe Walsh was penalised for a pull on a Bradford shirt as a corner floated into the box with the score at 1-0. It was soft, but Neilson felt it the referee made the right decision.

He said: "I've seen it, it is a pull. I'm disappointed in the sense that he shouldn't be doing it. But the referee has got it right."
