Millwall - the club Upson left to sign for Dons - are the visitors to Stadium MK for the second game of the League 1 season.

The Lions got their campaign off to a winning start last week, beating Oldham 3-0 at the Den.

Upson, who made more than 70 appearances for Millwall, is likely to start against his former club on Saturday, but it will be the first time he has had to come up against a former club.

“I’ve never had to do it yet!” he said. “At Millwall, we never played Yeovil so it’ll be a new experience for me. I still speak to a lot of the lads, so it’ll be a good game.

“I’ve got fond memories of everywhere I’ve been. There were ups and down, as there is at any club.

“But I’m at MK Dons now, and it’s a game I’ll be looking to win.”

Upson was Dons’ first signing of the summer, joining at the beginning of June, barely a month after the club suffered relegation from the Championship.

Having gone through a full pre-season regime with his new team-mates, Upson says there hasn’t been much negativity with regards to last season.

He said: “I haven’t sensed any hangover from last season. Everyone, since I’ve been here, has been really positive and keen for the season to start.

“We’re looking to the very top, as every team has to. But it’s early days, we’re only taking it a step, and a game at a time.

“It’s a pleasure to be playing out there at the moment.”
