Newport Pagnell Town’s six match winning run came to a dramatic end as they were thumped 6-1 by Wisbech in USL Premier Division.

Defender Jon Fairweather gave Wisbech the lead with a header after nine minutes only for Josh Crawley to equalise for Newport within a minute, beating the last defender before finishing well.

The Fenmen survived a spell of home pressure then finished the opening half strongly to take a grip on proceedings.

Josh Ford restored the visiting lead from a Billy Smith pass three minutes past the half hour mark with Scott Johnson’s strike from range making it three five minutes later.

Ford sprang the offside trap to round Josh McAdoo and score his second after 43 minutes and he completed his hat trick five minutes into the second half, following up after McAdoo saved from Danny Beaumont.

The Fenmen’s tally was completed by Neal Spafford’s low shot two minutes past the hour.

In Division One, a last minute leveller denied St Neots a win over former manager Steve Kuhne’s Olney Town in a 4-4 draw.

The visitors started brightly with a goal from Aaron Murrell after seven minutes putting them in early control.

Chae Simons levelled for Saints on the quarter hour but Murrell restored the Olney lead a minute before half time.

Will Wright scored the visiting third ten minutes into the second half.

Josh Bickerstaff put Saints back in the game five minutes past the hour and ten minutes later Dan Hobbs equalised.

With two minutes to play Hobbs put the home side ahead but Murrell salvaged a point for Olney.
