Nicholls pleased with his performances last season

Although MK Dons finished 19th in the standings last year, keeper Lee Nicholls said he was pleased with his improved performances.

Learning a new style of play under Russell Martin saw the stopper top the saves list of League One keepers, while also improving week-on-week with the ball at his feet.

“I couldn’t be happier with my performances last season, I’m made up with it,” he said.

“I worked hard on my game. In pre-season with Mel Gwinnett, we highlighted how many shots I saved and that was one of my areas I wanted to improve the most.

“What we worked on showed on the pitch.”
