This weekend Arsenal play Reading on Saturday, whilst Aston Villa take on Liverpool one day later.

A number of services from Birmingham will have extra stops added at Wembley Central, but the firm is keen to maintain a dry journey.

Terry Oliver, head of West Coast services, said “To make everyone’s journey more pleasant, alcohol is will be banned on London Midland trains to and from Sunday’s game between Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Our advice to fans is plan ahead and allow plenty of time for your journey in case you need to wait for the next service. Also, there are no London Midland train services between Redditch and Birmingham New Street until 11.27 on Sunday, 20 April. If you are planning to travel into Birmingham and your local train station is between Redditch and Birmingham, then you will need to use the rail replacement bus services we are putting in place.”

After the game, the following London Midland trains will call at Wembley Central for onward travel to Birmingham; 17.25; 18.04; 18.25; 19.04; 19.25; 20.04; and the 20.25.

These trains are expected to be busy. An alternative option is to travel by London Overground services from Wembley Central to Harrow and Wealdstone, where you can connect with London Midland services to Birmingham New Street.
