There will be no expectations when MK Dons head to Premier League Burnley in the FA Cup third round next month.

Russell Martin's side will head to Turf Moor in early January having seen off Eastleigh and Barnet in the opening two rounds, but there will be no pressure to go further in the competition.

"It’s Premier League opposition, it’s one for the players to be excited about," said the Dons boss. "It’s a very interesting draw for us and no doubt it’ll be a tough game because of the job Sean Dyche has done there over a long period of time.

"It’s one all the players can look forward to too, with no pressure and I hope we can go there and surprise a few people with a performance and result – but that’s for further down the line.

"Whenever you play Premier League opposition it’s a chance to showcase yourself. We’ll go there and try to make it difficult for Burnley."

Dons defender Daniel Harvie added: "It will be good, exciting and we're all looking forward to it. It’ll be a good experience for us, we’ll do our job and try to win it. We want to be in the fourth round so it’s a game we are excited for."
