No sulking from Nicholls after being dropped

Goalkeeper Andrew Fisher has praised Lee Nicholls' attitude after he replaced him in the side for the last three games.

Nicholls had been Dons' first choice since 2017, having replaced David Martin between the sticks, but lost his place to Fisher against Blackpool last weekend.

The 22-year-old though, who signed from Blackburn on transfer deadline day, says Nicholls has been nothing but supportive of him since coming out of the team.

"Lee has been really good with me, as has Laurie (Walker)," said Fisher. "There has been no sulking from Lee, he's always the first to come over to me after the game, congratulating me so he has been a real pro about it.

"The gaffer has put his faith in me. I'm happy to be playing now, doing my bit for him and I hope I'm repaying that faith."

Fisher did not really have many saves to make against Blackpool or against Wigan Athletic, but pulled off two excellent stops against AFC Wimbledon at the weekend as Dons picked up a point in the 1-1 draw.

After two fairly quiet games, Fisher admitted he was happy to show what he can do with his fans rather than his feet in goal.

He continued: "I got involved pretty early with my feet, to be fair! I touched the ball a lot in the games, so you're always in the games! But it was nice to make a save on Saturday as I've not had to make one for a while.

"I was here last season so I learned how to play the MK style of play. There are only a few things which have changed really. And I knew the lads from last time too, so I know how they play, what they're good at, so it was easy to fit back in.
