North Bucks League round-up: City Colts keeping pace at the top

CITY Colts maintained their fine start to the North Bucks & District League Premier Division season with a 4-0 thumping of Brackley Sports on Saturday – making it four wins from five games.

However, they have to make do with second place in the table for now because Great Horwood kept up their 100 per cent start by seeing off MK Titans 3-0.

Loughton Manor have also enjoyed a strong start and sit third after beating Potterspury 3-0, while Great Linford were held to a 1-1 draw by Thornborough Athletic.

Bow Brickhill are still sitting pretty at the top of the Intermediate Division table after edging past Hanslope by the odd goal in nine to make it four wins out of four.

Also going well are Woburn Sands Wanderers, but they tasted defeat for the first time this season when they lost 4-3 at home to Wicken Sports.

At the bottom end of the table, Denbigh Hall Sports are still looking for their first win after crashing 6-2 against Syresham, while Potterspury Res beat Deanshanger Athletic 6-1, AFC Santander won 2-1 at Buckingham Town Res, and City Colts Res were 3-2 victors over Brackley Sports Res.

Bow Brickhill Res thrashed bottom side Cage Athletic 5-0 to remain top of Division One with five wins out of five, while Olney maintained their unbeaten start with a 2-2 draw at Southcott Village, keeping them third.

Stoke Hammond wo n 5-2 at Deanshanger Athletic Res, Great Linford Res crashed 4-0 at Charlton & District, Wicken Sports Res lost 3-1 to Marsh Gibbon, and Bletchley Bridge are still looking for their first victory after losing 7-0 to University of Buckingham.

Stantonbury Social Elite top Division Two with a 100 per cent start from four games – their latest win coming 3-1 against Padbury Village Res.

Comet MK made it three wins out of three by beating Silverstone Res 6-1, while Scot Youth were 4-2 winners over Westbury and MK Wanderers ‘A’ beat Twyford United 2-1.
