Not just Nicholls at fault for Dons' conceding at Oxford

"We have to take responsibility as a team"

Russell Martin said Sam Long should not have been afforded a free header for Oxford to retake the lead at the Kassam Stadium.

The Dons keeper appeared to come to collect the ball into the box before retreating back to No Man's Land, allowing Long to head Oxford back in front after Cameron Jerome had cancelled out Matty Taylor's fifth minute opener.

Martin though refused to pin blame solely on the keeper, saying the defence should not have allowed Long a free header in the six yard box.

He said: "Regardless of whether he could come or not, Lee feels he should do better but we cannot give them free headers inside the six-yard box. That free-kick changed the game completely. It's not just Lee, we have to take responsibility as a team. There will be others in there disappointed by that goal."
