Not many options available for Dons to make changes at Northampton

Russell Martin would love to make changes for Tuesday's trip to Northampton in the Papa John's Trophy last 16 clash, but he doesn't think he will be able to make many.

With injuries to David Kasumu, Warren O'Hora, Andrew Surman, Louis Thompson and Jordan Houghton, the Dons boss has little option to rotate in his midfield in particular.

With a tough away trip on Saturday to Peterborough, Martin said changes would be the order of the day if he could for the trip to the PTS Academy Stadium, but most of the players who took Burnley to a penalty shoot-out will be required on Tuesday night.

He said: "We have two more really tough away games, and we'll have to manage the players through the games – the story of our season. We've not been able to consistently put out our best 11 because of injuries and having to manage the squad.

"Most will have to go again, and though it's great to have so many young lads on the bench, it's a big ask for them to play week-in, week-out.

"But it's a game we want to win on Tuesday. We'll put out the best team we can to go and win it."
