Heading into the game with back-to-back wins and clean sheets, Toby Cribb opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, put through by Taigan Brooks.

It took Old Bradwell just eight minutes to double their advantage, but came with a healthy dose of luck when Jakk Pursey’s free kick took a wicked deflection off the Bedford wall, wrongfooting the keeper.

United wrapped it up eight minutes into the second half when Barry Rooney nodded Aaron Bhasin’s corner home. Brooks was sent off with 20 minutes to go, but Bedford could not find a way back into the game.

Two days earlier, United were 5-0 winners over Berkhamsted Raiders in SSML Division 2. MK Gallacticos beat Clean Slate 4-1, New Bradwell St Peter beat Sarratt in a 4-3 thriller and Unite MK were thumped 5-1 by Bovingdon.
