The former Arsenal midfielder leaves to join Barnet, under former Dons manager Martin Allen.

Randall hasn’t played for Dons since March last season, and has endured a tough time off the field too, being found not guilty of sexual assault at the end of 2015.

However, with money tight and opportunities limited, Randall has been deemed surplus to requirements, joining Diego Poyet, Sam Gallagher and Cristian Benavente in leaving stadium:mk.

“Mark Randall is a great boy, and he has been through a really difficult time,” said Robinson. “It was disgusting. But he has been dragged through the mire. He has found it difficult with his injury, then this other problem.

“He needs to go somewhere else for his career. I’m very attached to him, he’s an extremely gifted player and he ticks a lot of boxes physically and mentally.

“He’s a great lad, and I wish him all the luck in the world.

“If anyone is going to show him the ways of the world, Martin Allen will! He’s a great guy, a good football man and demands a level of intensity. He will be perfect to rejuvenate Mark’s career. We could have done it if we were in League 1, but we cannot afford to do that in the Championship.”
