Robbo will risk the fine in dead rubber match at Carrow Road

With Dons and the Canaries safely through to the next round, the game at Carrow Road will be a dead rubber for both sides.

However, the rules state while Norwich can play a team of youngsters, Dons must play at least five first team players.

However, Robinson is willing to pay a fine to play a team of academy prospects in a tournament he dubbed ‘rubbish’ earlier this week.

“We’ve got a bit of prize money from this tonight, but I will not be sticking to the rules in the next round,” he said.

“We’ll make a few changes so it will be interesting to see what happens to us.

“I disagree with the rules we have to abide by. This hinders our development. What’s the point now? We have four teams playing games with nothing on it. Where’s the logic in that?

“And I have to play a certain number of first team players?! You can’t blame people for trying this out, but it has to be a knock-out competition for me, personally.

“We’ve done well so far, we’ve drawn with Barnet and beaten Peterborough, we’ve got five points, so we’ve respected the competition. If I was stood here saying having lost both games, I could be disrespecting the competition.”
