Still less than a year after taking over from Paul Tisdale, Russell Martin believes MK Dons feels like his team now.

Taking over a side in the relegation zone, Martin's rescue job last season required a lot of changes both in terms of personnel and a change in playing style to drag his side from the bottom three to an eventual 19th place finish in the curtailed campaign.

But after five months with his own thoughts on how to develop the team, Martin is making his impact felt. Redesigning everything from the formation, the playing style and the squad itself, even the design of the home dressing room, he says the club now feels like something in his own mould.

He said: "It feels like it's more me, in terms of the squad, the process, the people we've got, the way we're trying to play. I'm really fortunate to have a great group of staff who I work with every day who believe in what I'm doing. I'm really enjoying it, the feel of it, the demands the players have on themselves.

"We've got a clean slate this year, rather than battling so much last year. We had to overcome a lot of obstacles just to get ourselves away from the relegation zone. Now it feels different, the expectation is just to improve as much as possible and see how far it takes us.

"I want to team everyone enjoys watching, myself included, and I feel we're slowly getting there. I really like the culture creating, it has stepped up in terms of professionalism."
