Pete Winkelman has thanked Dons fans for their faith in buying season tickets for next season.

More than 3,500 fans hace already put their names down for the 2020/21 season, when it eventually kicks off, with their money the only current source of cash flow at Stadium MK.

"Pleased is an understatement," said Winkelman. "Our fans are some if not the best in the country because they have had to put up with so much.

"Our cash flow is in the toilet along with everyone else's. I don't want to sit here over-confident, but strong underlying businesses will be the first to come out of it.

"Football supporters in general are with their club, stakeholders and believe the club represents the community and where they are from.

"Our season ticket holders are paying their direct debits for their season tickets now, and that cash flow is absolutely crucial because it shows the commitment they have to us.

"A lot of chairman around the country are still shocked at how much season ticket money is still coming into their clubs.

"Football supporters in general love their clubs and don't want to see it in trouble. At this point, they know it's not a mad chairman who has spent too much money, or an expensive player who hasn't performed – this time it's a virus we all have to fight together."
