While their chances of taking an unlikely title were ended a few weeks ago as Leicester Nirvana and eventual winners AFC Kempston stretched their legs, the Swans were comfortable in third, but ended in spectacular fashion at Willen Road.

Keith Williams fired Newport into a 17th minute lead, but they were quickly pegged back when Matthew Clarke equalised two minutes later.

The second half though was a one-sided drubbing.

Goals from Greg Ling, two from Dom Lawless, and others from Fazel Koriya, Paul Edgeworth and Dave Baker completed the rout as Newport finished with 26 wins, netting 94 goals and collecting 83 points for third.
