Sorinola’s first Dons goal a dream come true

Matthew Sorinola was delighted to cap an excellent few days with his first professional goal on Tuesday.

After teeing up Regan Poole’s first career goal in the first half, Sorinola fired home Dons’ third of the evening 13 minutes from time, rounding off a great team move which saw three academy products combine.

“It felt great, it was what I’ve dreamed of as a kid so I’m really happy,” he said. “I saw John (Freeman) running, I saw the man in front and I thought I had a chance so I hit it and I was glad to see it go in!

“I got an assist as well, but I was happier with the win because we needed one. Now we can kick on on Saturday.”

He continued: “I was really pleased for Sam to get his goal. John has done so well and got two assists. It’s great to see everyone doing well.”
