Stony’s defensive horror show

Stony Stratford are bottom of Spartan Midland Division One having conceded 10 goals on two occasions already this season.

After a 10-0 defeat to Sun Sports on opening day, Stony were thumped 10-1 on Saturday away at Welwyn Garden City as their torrid start continues.

Life in Division Two hasn’t brought New Bradwell St Peter any more joy as they find themselves bottom of the league after two games.

Darren Turner’s side lost 2-0 on the season’s opening day to Tring, before a 5-1 drubbing on Saturday away at Brimsdown.

Things aren’t going much better for Old Bradwell either, who hit above St Peter on goal difference having also lost their opening two games, most recently a narrow 4-3 defeat at the hands of Aston Clinton.

Willen are also without a point after two consecutive defeats, losing 3-1 on Saturday to Luton side The 61 FC.

Olney Town find themselves in 15th in UCL Division One in the early stages of the season.

After being edges out of a seven goal thriller against Harrowby on Saturday, Olney picked up their first point of the season on Tuesday night, drawing 2-2 with Northamptonshire side Raunds Town at the Recreation Ground.

After their FA Cup success against Hatfield, Newport Pagnell return to UCL Premier League action on Saturday with a home match against Stewart & Lloyds Corby.

Lynch’s men are without a point in their opening two league matches this season, and will be looking to rectify that at Willen Road against a Corby side who too are looking for their first win.
