The additions of Will Grigg and Charlie Brown have given Russell Martin a lot of reason to be happy at the moment.

While Cameron Jerome and Joe Mason have been on the scoresheet recently, with Jerome brushing off transfer speculation linking him with a move away to net two in two to reach 11 for the campaign.

On Tuesday night in the 4-1 win over Rochdale at Spotland, all four of Martin's strike options got minutes and all looked desperate to score in the second half to extend Dons' lead further. And that hunger from his front line impressed the manager, who believes any combination of the four he has up front will cause problems.

"They were desperate to run, press and get the ball back as well," said Marti, reflecting on Tuesday night. "The options we have excite us, with Griggy coming in, Charlie Brown getting better with every game, Joe Mason looking back to the Joe Mason we know he is capable of being, and Cammy doing what he does best after what went on on deadline day.

"I'm really pleased with what we have, and any combination of them can be a threat in this league really. They all looked threatening, really dangerous.

"They all had chances as well, except for Charlie who seems to come on and set chances up at the moment – I want one to dall for him and I think he's getting a bit frustrated that one hasn't fallen for him. But there is real competition and that improves performances.

"They're all desperate to be on the pitch. They want to score and stay in the team and that's how it should be."
