Stringing together wins and performances is a Dons talking point

"It will be a big statement if we can get three points against Swindon"

Baily Cargill admits MK Dons' lack of back-to-back wins this season is something they are all concerned with.

You have to look back to February for the last time Dons picked up six points from two games but this season they have struggled not only to follow up victories with another, but also good performances too.

"It's something we've talked about," said Cargill. "We've had some really good performances, even in games we've not won, and then we've not backed it up. It's something that's in our minds, but we're trying our best to put that right. It will be a big statement if we can get three points against Swindon.

"We will go to Swindon and try to put in a good performance and hopefully get back-to-back wins, which would be nice. There are no easy games in this league. Swindon aren't in the best form but it will be a tough test."

Swindon, promoted from League Two, have been on a poor run recently and find themselves in the League One relegation zone. Dons, who were promoted from League Two a year before the Robins, suffered a similar plight on their return to the third tier, highlighting the big step now required after going up.

Cargill continued: "It's a step up in every league, League Two can be similar to League One at times, but there are so many different variables at the moment that football is different to how it usually is. League One is a great league, there are a lot of great teams in the division so you can see why some teams find it tough.

"The league is really tight, especially where we are in the table. But if we can sting wins together, we'll climb that table quickly and start looking up rather than down."
