Burton's Jake Buxton always had eyes for a job in management according to former team-mate Richard Keogh.

The pair played together at Derby County before Buxton returned to Burton and Keogh moved to MK Dons. Buxton replaced Nigel Clough at the helm of the Brewers in May, but has won just two of his 22 games in charge so far.

Keogh though has high-hopes for his former team-mate ahead of reuniting tomorrow at Stadium MK.

"I’m pleased for him," Keogh said. "We had two seasons together and he’s a really good guy. He had an eye on being a manager and coaching.

"The job came up for him in the way it did for Russ, he probably wasn’t expecting it but he knows that club so well. I’m really pleased for him, I wish him all the best this season.

"I bumped into him when I was doing his rehab and he spoke about how excited he was for it. I’m really pleased and I hope he does a fantastic job."

Having played several teams at the sharper end of the table recently, including Hull, Charlton and Accrington, Dons take on Burton, who are currently in the League One drop zone.

Keogh says the approach will remain the same though, adding: "Burton have picked up their form recently. Our mentality wont change from who we play, we are so focused on what we do. In general we go into every game trying to win it and produce the best performance we can."
